Isabel's work mainly appeals to me through her vibrant and enthusiastic use of paint. that her paintings are completed in one sitting heightens the idea of the process and intensity of the act of painting as important when seeing her work. however she has a lot of ideas behind her work. that we try to humanise and control the natural world, which in fact has a mind of it's own! her paintings are carefully constructed, and her lucid expressive paint, contained or restrained amongst a certain representational order. in this way there is a kind of idea of her human need to rationalise or make sense of her natural use of paint and so in this respect her practise is supported by her conceptual framework!
